Ludwigia peploides
There are two other species, introduced from South America into Australia, that are serious water weeds.
One is a shrub that quickly reaches up to 4 metres in height with long narrow leaves: the other is a spreading woody shrub.
The native Water Primrose has creeping stem that can float on the water or sprawl across dry land and produce flowers on short erect stems.
These flowers form are on short stalks that sprout from a point between the leaf and the erect stems
