Wallaby Grass

Austrodanthonia tenuior

This is the most common species of Wallaby Grass. The Wallaby Grasses are so similar that they are distinguished by microscopic examination of their seeds.
Notice the long awn, a bristle-like addition to the seed.
It is grows to a height of 60 to 80 cms and is an annual grass which does not clump but grows in tufts.
