Rough Maidenhair Fern

Adiantum hispidulum

This fern is commonly found among rocks in open forest, It has short-creeping rhizomes, covered with dark brown scales.
Fronds 5–70 cm high, palmately divided as shown; segments are 5–13 mm long, and may be coppery-pink when young aging to tough, pale to dark green; stipe and rachises sparsely hairy.
The insert shows the small brown sori, 1–20 per segment, close together along outer and upper margins.
