Tall Saw-sedge

Gahnia clarkei

This sedge is rather dominant in the lower storey of the wetlands. In many of the places often wet, it grows vigorously to the exclusion of many other species. It is the sedge commonly known as Razor Grass as rubbing against it can give nasty cuts to the hands and arms.

See photo of this sedge in seed.
