Carex inversa
This sedge grows to about half a metre. As can be seen, there is a rhyzome from which shoots arise resulting in plants that sometimes appear tufted.
Flower stem are about 1 mm diameter and leaves are up to 2 mm width; the fibrous remains of old leaves, clings like a brown sheath to the base of the seed stems.
