Spotted Knotweed

Persicaria strigosa

This plant has been found in the wetter regions sprawling throughout the ghania, growing alongside a Goodenia and a Lobelia. In permanent water, where it grows beside the Water Fishbone Fern, Cyclosorus interruptus it is almost the dominant species. Its leaves are soft and fairly smooth and stems are hairy and rigid, hence its name strigosa which refers to hair-like bristles. Flowers Summer to Autumn.
