Another Plumegrass

Dichelachne rara

The specimen photographed here is mounted on an A4 sized sheet. It is a tufted grass which grows to the same height as other plume grasses, up to about 1.2 metres

The plume grasses are so named because of the abundance of hairs or awns (sometimes more than 3 cm long) in the seed.
