This small orchid usually grows in marshy or boggy places; widespread, from coastal districts to inland. At Tumbi it was found in a number of small tufts scattered among the grasses in a relatively disturbed damp area. As indicated by the scale in the photo the flowers are only about 5 mm long and the stem is no more than a 1 mm wide.
Before I knew its identiy, apart from being an orchid, I searched for "a tiny native Australian orchid", and found straight off.
