Lepidosperma laterale

Tufted perennial with very short rhizome. Seed stems are rigid, erect, flat to slightly convex, smooth and shiny, 30100 cm high, and about 38 mm wide; margins usually rough to touch.

Leaves are similar, 38 mm wide but much shorter than the stems; sheath reddish or dark grey-brown at base, straw-coloured at apex, rarely all straw-coloured,

Flowers produce a nut about 34 mm long, 1.32.0 mm diam., pale to dark brown, wrinkled to smooth, shining.
