Adiantum hispidulum / Rough Maidenhair Fern
This fern is commonly found among rocks in open forest – It has short-creeping rhizomes – covered with dark brown scales. Fronds 5–70 cm high – palmately divided as shown; segments are 5–13 mm long – and 05/be coppery-pink when young aging to tough – pale to dark green; stipe and rachises sparsely hairy. The insert shows the small brown sori – 1–20 per segment – close together along outer and upper margins. Created: 04/21 2009
