This sedge grows to about half a metre. As can be seen – there is a rhyzome from which shoots arise resulting in plants that sometimes appear tufted. Flower stem are about 1 mm diameter and leaves are up to 2 mm width; the fibrous remains of old leaves – clings like a brown sheath to the base of the seed stems. Created: 07/7/2009
