Cyperus haspan subsp. haspan / a sedge

This loosely tufting perennial grass – a relatively uncommon grass at Tumbi – was found growing in a relatively dry disturbed area. Its leaves wereto 20 to 30 cm and flowering stem reached a height of 90 cm. The panicle shown is about 13 cm long and up to 10 mm wide. Created: 07/12/2016
