Juncus bufonius / Toad Rush

The herbarium specimen photo shows a tufted annual sedge with cylindrical seed stems up to 20 cm long with diameter about 0.04)-1.0 mm diam. Leaves grow from the base and are shorter than seed stems and 05/be flat or slightly chanelled; 0.2-0.2 mm wide; sheath pale yellow to occasionally red-brown. Flowers form at end of the stem and often form a much longer structure than rest of the stem. Created: 05/27/2009
