Melaleuca nodosa / Ball Honeymyrtle
A shrub or small tree with the usual papery bark of melaleucas. The inset(top left) shows how the cluster of flowers consisting only of styles and anthers matures to produce a cluster of fruits(inset lower right). At Tumbi Wetlands this is the tree that is dominant in the secondary canopy – under the eucalypts. See photos of the whole flowering plant. Created: 11/2/2007
