Paspalidium distans / a grass
The photo at the left shows why this grass was formerly called P. radiatum, of course meaning radiating. Its leaves and stems can be seen here, to be radiating from its tuft of roots. The inset at the top shows the seed stem with the branches of the panicle lying close to the stem but spaced quite distinctly. It can be seen from a different angle that all the seeds are on one side of the stem. Created: 02/26 ,2010
