Persicaria strigosa / Spotted Knotweed

This plant has been found in the wetter regions sprawling throughout the ghania – growing alongside a Goodenia and a Lobelia. In permanent water – where it grows beside the Water Fishbone Fern – Cyclosorus interruptus it is almost the dominant species. Its leaves are soft and fairly smooth and stems are hairy and rigid – hence its name strigosa which refers to hair-like bristles. Flowers Summer to 3 -Autumn. Created: 06/19/2007
