Philydrum lanuginosum / Wooly Frogsmouth

What we found is shown in the panel on the right of this photo. What the flower looks like when the plant is young and healthy, is shown in the left panel. This lily was growing, or rather dying, in a damp disturbed place; usually it grows in water such as in swamps, along margins of streams and dams. It is one species, widely spread from eastern Australia through S.E.Asia to Japan. Created: 04/20, 2020
