This is an upright plant with stiff branching stems, usually not more than 10 cms tall. Upon contact with soil, they develop a fibrous root system with root hairs. It is abundant in wet sandy soil, in sunny locations. It is not a seed producing plant but related to the mosses. Created: 03/20, 2011
